We've lost another vintage neon sign.
verplanck's flickrMayfair Chemists on 7th Avenue at 12th Street,
felled by Duane Reade in 2006, just had its chrome and neon sign removed.

What's moving in?
The Duane Reade on the corner is expanding southward--now it will take up the entire block.
Let's hope Mayfair doesn't suffer
the same fate as Jade Mountain--unknown but likely disastrous.
